If you become a PS3 on version 3.55 all you lot need is a computer and a USB device and you'll be able to jailbreak it. Super Slim consoles cannot be jailbroken, they take something called Cobra ODE which I don't know much about.

As for your 360 question I'm honestly non to sure how easier information technology is to RGH / JTAG an Xbox console.

You need a boot disc, and burnt Bluray disc to apply as a swap disc (and everytime you lot update your library or when there is a new update for the game the eboot changes and so you need to burn a new BR disc), to become online.
